A Realistic Workout Plan

It's frustrating but ever since going on birth control, I have definitely put on some pounds. My normal weight when I do not exercise or pay attention to what I am eating is around 105 to 110 pounds. So far I have gained about 10 pounds in the past 2 years. Newlywed weight! Eek. My doctor warned me about how women on bc can gain weight from eating more than they need to and I kind of laughed it off. But oh boy. The struggle is REAL!

My friend asked me to be in her wedding and that day is coming up in a few months. This is the workout routine I have settled into for the past month and I am trying my best to stick to it.

Monday- 30 minutes cardio and arms

Tuesday- Ashtanga Yoga

Wednesday- Pilates

Thursday- Ashtanga Yoga every other Thursday, or rest

Friday- 30 minutes cardio and abs

Saturday- Ashtanga Yoga

Sunday- 15 minutes cardio and Pilates

I try to go every day but HONESTLY, I don't always make it to the gym. Life gets in the way or I am feeling like a couch potato or just don't feel like driving. I find that when I tell myself I have to go every day, I make it to the gym about 5 times a week.

Depending on how my body feels, sometimes instead of yoga I do Zumba. I was not made to be a dancer but it is a fun way of getting cardio! I have really weak knees so no high-impact exercising allowed. Biking, elliptical, and rowing are good alternatives to the treadmill.

I love being a member of the YMCA because of all of their group fitness classes. I go to the Buckhead location and they are about to expand, which is exciting! The people who go are not intimidating at all and I find that attending classes gets my butt to the gym. I am so thankful that my friend and husband also go to the gym with me. It is so encouraging and I hope I can see some progress!
