The tablecloths were such a good idea. They really completed the look!
Dollar store goodies! Every teacher's favorite store.
Now that I have actual time to myself, I can reflect on my teaching practices and what I want to do better next year. I need to focus more on teaching reading skills and phonics, especially because I will be teaching the special education inclusion class. This is an area of my life where God is definitely challenging me. I thought that my second year of teaching would be a breeze because I would have a year under my belt and a Masters degree completed. But nope! Just when I started to feel comfortable, God pushed me to help His other children who need me to give it my all. It was definitely a moment where I thought, "Who me?! Pick anybody else!" But sure enough... I will be teaching second graders who need extra care and help. Until then, I will definitely be relaxing and mentally preparing myself for another hectic school year!
Tomorrow I leave for Las Vegas with my sister to visit family so I will be leaving my husband home alone for ten days! I am already feeling separation anxiety and it did not help when he said, "Don't go... Stay home." I am getting emotional again just typing this! We went shopping for food to make sure he doesn't starve while I'm gone. I told him to play golf every day while I'm gone and then he quickly snapped out of whatever sadness he was feeling. Hmph.
Future professional golf instructor?
Hopefully the next week and a half will breeze by. Stay tuned for pictures of my trip to Nevada, Arizona, and the Grand Canyon!
