Guess who had an amazing weekend with her husband? This girl! We got to enjoy a lovely weekend together just the two of us with no distractions. We got up and went to the gym and then watched an amazing movie called The Good Lie- a movie about refugees from Sudan (a much better alternative to 50 Shades of Grey). After the movie, we got ready for a 5 p.m. dinner reservation at Bones located in Buckhead. Yup, super early because that was the only available time when we called in late January haha. It was super intimate because the busy Valentine's Day crowd had not arrived yet. Totally fine by us!
We sat across an adorable older couple who shared dessert while holding hands across the table. It definitely brought a smile to my face.
I am definitely returning to Bones later just for their amazing bread and lobster bisque.
After dinner ended, we didn't feel like going home yet so we went to the bar area and got a couple of drinks and just chatted on a comfy couch, playing a very heated and competitive round of Trivia Crack! I am still unsure if this game is healthy for our marriage ;)
Today's sermon at Resonate Church was about Paul's message to the church of Corinth about what it means to over indulge in the pleasures that God supplied for us. He provides wonderful things for us to enjoy but it is super important for us not to only focus on those things. He created us for His pleasure, which means that we should be grateful for the amazing life we have and then live according to His will! Real talk- Marriage is not just about whether or not you feel like you have a duty to have sex with your spouse. It is about helping your spouse be the best version of himself so that he can glorify the Lord. Basically, everything we do, eat, and say should always point others to Jesus Christ. This Valentine's Day weekend for me was all about reconnecting with the man that God planned for me to marry so that I can become a better wife and daughter of God.
